Nexus is launching an AI Lab for safe and verifiable artificial inteligence

Nexus is building an AI R&D organization that is aimed at creating artificial intelligence agents who are transparent and verifiable for their users.

Artificial intelligence continues to attract attention in the blockchain space, Infrastructure Company Nexus announced on Thursday 8 May the launch of its dedicated AI Research and Development Lab: the Nexus Verifiable AI Lab.

The Nexus verifiable AI Lab will work on bridging blockchain -verifyability with artificial intelligence. They will focus on the development of AI models that are auditable and reliable, with the help of zero knowledge certificates.

The primary goal is to tackle growing concern with today’s great language models: their lack of transparency. Currently, users have no insight into how AI systems come to specific outputs, nor can they determine whether those outputs arise from machine logic or human input.

AI must be transparent to grow: Nexus

The coverage of AI systems is a special care in regulated industries. In industries such as health care, finances, etc., company users must know where the training data comes from and how the model generates its output.

“Modern AI systems are powerful – but opaque. We rarely know exactly what data they have been trained on, which version has been implemented, or that the output we see has actually been generated by the model we have tested. In regulated domains such as health care, finance and legislation, this coverage is a dealbreaker,” Coherence written

The efforts of Nexus show the growing convergence between AI and blockchain technologies. In particular, blockchain systems can offer the transparency and open-source nature that miss current AI models.

Moreover, Nexus is only one of the companies that work on verifiable AI. For example, Oasis Protocol launched its verifiable AI agents on 29 April. With these agents, users can independently verify how they are to apply the right trade strategy.
