North Side Burglary suspected accused of more burglaries in Lakeview, Uptown
McClain (CPD)

A man who is accused of two residential burglaries last month is now accused of committing even more burglaries in the months before he was caught.

Chicago Cops arrested James McClain, 37, last month due to alleged infringement of a residential building in the 5800 block of North Kenmore twice in February. They arrested him again a few days ago after in that case he appeared in the Skokie court building for a routine hearing.

Prosecutors now say that he is the man who broke three residential buildings in Lakeview and Uptown this winter.

On December 18, he reportedly took a bicycle after he was broken into an apartment building in the 3000 block of North Southport.

On January 16, he stole another bike during the burglary of an apartment building in the 2800 block of North Halsted, said prosecutors.

And on 27 February he is said to have stolen $ 2,500 in Super Mario statuettes from a storage area of an apartment building in the 4700 block of North Kenmore.

Judge Susana Ortiz has released McClain on the new charges, but he will be electronic monitoring 24/7.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
