The Oppo Find N5 could get rid of the difficult folding display fold forever, if a recent official photo must be believed.
It was a day to talk about folding phone advances, with the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate promising to give us a suitable tablet, and the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 set to give ‘iffy battery life’ to the box ‘yesterday, foldable problems’ .
The Oppo Find N5 promises to do something similar for another long -term foldable bugbear from us: the display folds.
The folding problem
Every folding to hit the market to date has had a form of ugly groove that run down (or over) the center of the main screen. Not the Oppo Find N5, at least of what we can see.
Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau (who also co-founder of OnePlus, smartphone History fans) was brought to X with a remarkable new image of the upcoming Oppo Find N5.
It shows the new foldable on full size in addition to a mysterious competitor, probably a Samsung Galaxy Z-fold from a description and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 can have a similar trick.
From the corner where the photo was taken, we can clearly see the large fold of the rival phone. Regarding the Find N5 device on the left, such a fold is nowhere to be seen.
“No fold detected,” says Lau. Although we would not go that far, it is certainly not very noticeable. Also keep in mind that this is switched off with the display and with an external light source that shines on it.
As soon as the Oppo is in use the N5 screen, we doubt that you can notice the fold at all.

What else do we know about the Oppo Find N5?
This image also seems to emphasize what a large folding De Oppo thinks N5 is likely to be, at least in terms of his footprint. The dwarf rather his rival, with a considerably wider display.
Not that we expect the Oppo N5 to feel particularly large, such as folding. Previous leaks have claimed that it will only be 4.2 mm thick if it is opened, making it a fraction thinner than the Super-Skinny Honor Magie V3.
Who are all good for the OnePlus Open 2, which is probably cut from the same cloth.
Despite such a thin body, Oppo has confirmed that the foldable IPX9 will be water -resistant. We also know that it will support 50W wireless charging, while a Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip and a large 5600 mAh battery are expected.
Oppo revealed yesterday that it would reveal the find N5 in just two weeks, which indicates that it will be announced on 19 or 20 February.
Not long to wait, and we could see it in the meat on MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
