Our families cut us off because we did OnlyFans... my dad said 'only whores do this job' but I bought a £500,000 house

IT is the website that revolutionized the sex industry and brought overnight wealth to those willing to bare it all.

But OnlyFans stars are warning that the internet subscription service, which rakes in more than £4 BILLION a year, is tearing families apart as those who take their gear off are in turn ostracized by those nearest and dearest.

The Sun last week told how ex-Emmerdale actress Sammy Winward has had a row with her daughter, Mia, 19, over the teenager’s OnlyFans work.

Mia insists that by interacting with her fans on the site, she earns ten times more than she would earn from most other jobs she could pursue.

But she adds: “I absolutely love my mother, I love my whole family, but none of them are talking to me right now.”

Similarly, former Southampton footballer Matt Le Tissier previously saw red with his son Mitchell and daughter-in-law Alex – who have four children – over her OnlyFans models.

He admitted in 2022: “I don’t want anything to do with them anymore.”

But The Sun on Sunday can reveal these celebrities are far from the only ones devastated by what they believe are their loved ones selling body and soul for online wealth.

Former real estate agent Courtney sinswho earned £1.1million from OnlyFans last year, admits she paid the price of being cut off by her sister and parents.

Courtney, 41, from Northamptonshire, quit her £50,000-a-year job to join the site, where she sold raunchy, bespoke videos for up to £1,200 a time.

‘Pension money’

She says: “Some family members didn’t like me having relationships with people online, and we haven’t spoken since.

“I may regret it in the future if I cannot repair the damage together with my family. But I have to do what makes me happy.

“I had been on OnlyFans for a few years when I thought it was time to be honest with them. They were absolutely outraged.

‘I’ve tried to talk to my sister, but she doesn’t want anything to do with me.

“It’s been so upsetting since I’ve been on lockdown. I hope that we can eventually rebuild the bridges.

“It’s not like I’m a porn star who has orgies with different people every week. I’m just having some fun and making money for my future and my pension. I have my life to live.”

Courtney expects to pay £75,000 in tax, adding: “I’m a limited company, I pay VAT and it’s all legit. People think I’m just selling myself online, but I’m a serious businesswoman and this is serious business.

SPLIT: She no longer speaks to her sister and parents after giving up a £50,000-a-year estate agent job to move locally.

COURTNEY SAYS: Since I’ve been on lockdown it’s been so upsetting. But I’m making money I could only dream of.

I really hope that we can rebuild the bridges in the long term. People think I’m just selling myself online, but I’m a serious businesswoman and this is serious business.

“I’m making money I could only dream of. I spend it on clothes and lingerie because it’s tax deductible, and put the money aside in my pension. I’m working every day.”

Meanwhile, former assistant restaurant manager of Bella Italia Elena Xonia also had a heartbreaking fallout with family after switching careers to promote her wares on OnlyFans.

Romanian-born Elena, 31, from Luton, who earns up to £50,000 a month, started posting in March 2021 and her father John, 56, no longer speaks to her.

Unemployed John and her mother, nurse Floria, 50, were devastated when a neighbor in Bacau, Romania, told them what she was doing in secret. But Elena is undeterred as her income has allowed her to buy a £500,000 house.

About OnlyFans, she says: “I tried to earn a little extra money while working in a restaurant.

“The first month I made £800, the second £2,500 and then I made £25,000 in six months, which was crazy.

“I decided to resign from the restaurant as there was no point in working 40 hours a week for £1,800 when I could be earning that much.”

Elena Xonia

NAME: Elena Xonia, 31, from Luton

INCOME: £345,000

TAX: £35,000 personal and £56,000 business (total £91,000)

SPLIT: She stopped speaking to her father after a neighbor tipped him off that Elena had left her management job at a Bella Italia restaurant to work locally.

ELENA SAYS: My dad came on the phone and he was rude to me and doesn’t really talk to me now.

He says I disappointed him – and maybe he’s right. But at the same time I just bought a £500,000 house.

“I now have about 3,000 subscribers and work ten to twelve hours a day. One day I called my mom and she told me that a neighbor had shown her photos from my Instagram. I said, ‘What’s the problem?’

My dad then came on the phone and was very rude to me and doesn’t really talk to me anymore.

He says I’ve disappointed him – and maybe he’s right, but at the same time I’ve just bought a half-a-million-pound house.

“He says, ‘Only whores do this kind of work.’ To be honest, it hurts, but I’m 31 and old enough to take care of myself.”

‘Selling our souls’

Elena insists she is a hard-working businesswoman. She says: “People have the impression that we sell our souls, but if you want to make money you have to put in a lot of work.

“Last year I earned £345,000 and I paid £35,000 for myself in personal tax and £56,000 in corporation tax.

“That is after I have deducted my deductible costs of office, camera, lighting, outfits and microphones, among other things. I have a lot of expenses and a marketing company.

“I think I pay too much tax because it’s almost £100,000 a year. But I love my job because I can work anywhere – and the money is really good.

It’s a myth that you are in control

SALLY LAND, The Sun on Sunday’s Agony Aunt, says:

“It’s easy to see the appeal of becoming an OnlyFans star – unlike the rest of the sex industry, it seems that performers can control their work and image.

‘Then there’s the money. Many women who have chosen this conversation talk about empowerment, and everyone has the right to make choices. But no one who creates content can maintain control. Once published, it is subject to screen capture, recording and posting to other sites.

“People who pay for gratification can feel entitled, and there are people who research private data from the creators of OnlyFans and then publish it. Finally, I’m not sure losing your family is a worthwhile price to pay.”
