Subtly peeled skin and supple folds appear where we least expect them José Manuel Castro López‘s stone sculptures (formerly). From small boulders of granite and quartz found near his home in A Coruña, Spain, the artist carves and polishes delicate wrinkles reminiscent of dust or the malleability of broken, wet clay. For example, ‘Recorte de Piel’ or ‘Skin Peeling’ resembles an angular piece of potato peel that has been carefully peeled away.
Some of the works shown here are part of López’s exhibition in Cadogan Solo in Milan, which lasts until October 31. Keep an eye on his Instagram for updates.
