Chicago police are looking for six men who surrounded and assaulted a passenger aboard a CTA bus in Washington Park last month, punching him repeatedly in the face and stealing his headphones and jacket before fleeing.

The victim was riding a bus in the 5800 block of South Martin Luther King Drive when the group approached him around 7:04 p.m. on April 9, according to a community alert Chicago police issued Saturday.

After taking the man’s belongings and punching him in the face several times, the six robbers ran from the bus, last seen heading east from 58th Street and King Drive, the victim said.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact transit investigators at 312-745-4447. Tips can also be submitted anonymously at CPDTIP.com under case number JK211921.

Our coverage area has since expanded to Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas.
