There is a huge search for a young girl who has now feared to have disappeared in 2017 – with police who only realized when her mother was recently caught in Texas because she reportedly locked the child’s hungry sister in a cupboard.
Ava Marie Gonzales, who would now be 9, was never reported missing – but was last seen in the detention of her mother, Virginia Marie Gonzales, when she was only 2, the police of Austin revealed Tuesday.
Authorities shot De Alert after the girl’s mother was introduced on 24 April for sick charges for child abuse for alleging the 7-year-old sister of Ava in a cupboard for a month with minimal food.
The seriously malnourished girl-who only weighed 29 pounds found in the 3-foot-by-2-foot housing when the police responded to a well-being from 911 to 3 April, Keye reported, with reference to a arrest report.
The girl was reportedly limited to the cupboard for a few weeks and only received “one corn dog and a 1/2 cup of water a day” to survive.
Medical checks later found that the child had suffered “moderate to severe cerebral atrophy” brain damage due to the long -term hunger.
Six other children, age 2 to 14 years, were also found in the house, but did not show any signs of abuse, Cops said.
According to the police, sufficient amounts of food were also found in the house.
The disturbing scene led researchers to discover Ava’s mysterious disappearance.
The police said they were ‘seriously worried’ about the well -being of AVA, given the circumstances in which her sister was found.
“We have information that shows that she was born in Virginia. We just don’t know where she is now,” said Detective Russell Constable.
‘[The mom] has provided conflicting information to many different family members. So we hope to get more information and try to find out where she is. “
Ava is described as a Spanish woman with right -brown hair and brown eyes.
Cops shared a photo of Ava from when she was last seen as a toddler, as well as an age program of what they could look like now at the age of 9.
