A ‘Power Rangers’ actor will serve 45 days in jail after being convicted of a horrific attack on an elderly man who was using a walker.
Hector David Rivera, who is best known for playing the green Power Ranger in the franchise, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor charge in the high-powered attack that was caught on camera in Nampa, Idaho, in July . 2024.
The 35-year-old was initially sentenced to 180 days in prison, according to TMZ but he doesn’t have to serve all that time.
Canyon County Court Judge Matthew B. Schelstrate reportedly suspended 135 days of the actor’s sentence, so he now only has to serve 45 days as long as he avoids trouble when he gets out of jail.
Rivera was also placed on two years of supervised probation and must perform 100 hours of community service.
Last summer, horrific CCTV footage recorded by a bystander’s dashboard camera showed Rivera, wearing a sweater and baggy red pants, approaching an elderly man using a walker and then pushing him to the ground and yelling at him in the parking lot of an apartment. complex.
Nampa police claimed the violence occurred “after they exchanged words over a parking issue.”
