RAM confirms another delay in electric, extender-ates

The fully electric RAM 1500 Rev. ute, and the closely related range of reach RAM 1500 Ramchargerare again delayed.

Respond to a report by Crain’s Detroit BusinessA spokesperson for the French-Italian-American car maker confirmed that the company “extends the quality validation period” to iron some quality problems on the honorary (electric vehicle of extended range)) 1500 Ramcharger.

Although the spokesperson has not set what these problems are, the latter setback means that the Ramcharger will only be launched at the earliest in the first quarter of 2026.

In terms of the fully electric 1500 Rev.This is delayed because of the market “the consumer demanded” for full-size electric pick-ups in the United States.

Despite the rising EV sales in the US, the Rivian R1T, Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Lightning and the electric versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra do not get their initially imagined sales goals.

In 2024, for example, Ford sold a total of approximately 33,000 lightning of 460,915 F-150s. The blue oval was initially planning to shift around 150,000 lightningmers per year.

Relatively early 2023, the RAM 1500 Rev was originally set to enter the market at the end of 2024. At the end of last year, RAM pushed the launch date back to 2026, and now it has confirmed that the Rev will not be available until the third quarter of 2027.

The long-distance variant of the 1500 Rev with a 229kWh battery and the projected range of 804 km (500 miles) has been canceled, which means that only the standard range variant is offered.

At the unveiling of 2023, the standard range 1500 Rev was equipped with a dual engine four-wheel drive, with a total of 488 kW and 841 Nm. Feeded by a 168kWh battery, the electric ram would have a range of 563 km (350 miles). Given the long pregnancy time of the car, these details can change well by the time Rev is finally launched.

The 1500 Ramcharger wants to offer the best of both worlds with its EV drive of extensive range. It has a few electric motors that control all four wheels, with a total of 487 kW and 834 Nm and fed by a 92 kWh battery.

There is also a 3.6-liter V6 on board, but it cannot control the wheels. Instead, the only task is to charge the battery when it starts to become low.
