In physics, Kwantumverkengeling describes how particles are generated, interaction or in the vicinity of each other cannot be independent quantum states. Albert Einstein referred to this phenomenon as ‘ghostly distance promotion’. In short, as soon as particles have interaction, they remain connected, even if they are millions of light years apart.
For artist JachthakkaposEntertainment inspires an interest in frequency, resonance and connection through painting. “In a special way I can relate to remote particles that influence each other because I have an identical twin sister,” she tells Colossal. “I grew up with a mirrored reflection of myself, but one that is also independent and leads a different life than me. This unique perspective has created a lifelong bond of mutual connection between my sister and me. “
Kappos describes her paintings, such as her life, as a double or a mirror that reflects in countless ways. She evokes a kind of “buzzing frequency and optical movement that gives the impression that solid, different objects – such as our bodies – are fluent or malleable.
“We are inextricably linked to each other and our environment,” says the artist. “Where does the body and the universe end? Vibration is an indication that it is closely related. These paintings, combined with my own life experience, have emphasized my evolving awareness of the nature of reality. “
Kappos applies acrylic paint in semi-transparent color layers, which overlap to create a resonating or vibrating visual quality. She is interested in displaying human connections, especially women, who often emphasize profiles or hands because they point to the body, but perhaps not the first detail is not to see galms, optical color effects. Many works have light and dark counterparts, such as “Sister 1” and “Sister 2.”
“Just like Echos, the repeated motifs almost have a Doppler effect, where there is an increase or decrease in the frequency of light, depending on where you stand,” says Kappos. “The essential, transparent layers of paint eventually become profiles of faces, sometimes merging into landscape, sometimes they appear from the focus, just buzzing or humming.”
Many of these works were recently seen in her solo shows Ultraviolette catastrophe bee Well In Los Angeles and Ghostly action bee Sanctom In New York City. She currently has a piece in the group exhibition Soft focus bee The hole‘S Los Angeles location.
