The Galaxy S25 series is here, but Samsung’s January 2025 Galaxy -packed event was not without surprises.
In addition to the generally expected Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, the company also teased a fourth model, known as the Galaxy S25 Edge.
It marks the first return from Samsung to the Randbranding since the Galaxy S7 Edge of 2016, although a lot has changed since then.
Here is everything we know so far about the brand new entry in Samsung’s flagship telephone setup.
When will the Galaxy S25 lead be released?
Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at the end of his Galaxy -packed event on January 22, 2025.
But while the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra be started on 7 February, there is no official word about when the lead will be on the market.
Earlier this year, Onleaks and Smartprix Renders published that look like the S25 lead, despite the fact that it is the S25 smart. In the article they suggest that a launch will take place in May 2025. A 9to5Google report suggested a little earlier, stating that a representative of Samsung said that the phone would come ‘around’ April.
A appearance in the Geekbench database, as reported by Mysmartprice, contributes to the feeling that a launch is around the corner.
More recently, sources in the industry that speak with the South Korean publication claims Seoul Economic Daily that the S25 lead could be on the market on 16 April. According to this report, Samsung is not a complete launch event for the slim device, which instead opts for an online unpacked event.
Despite these indications, some sources still suggest that the phone can only go on sale in May. So it seems that everyone has been somewhat correct in one way or another.
However, this can only apply to the United Kingdom and 38 other countries, if a Phonearena report can be believed. It is important that the list does not contain the US, while Leaker Evan Blass said in a private post on X that the phone “will almost certainly not be offered by American carriers”.
How much does the Galaxy S25 Edge cost?
Samsung still has to reveal how much the Galaxy S25 Edge could cost. However, the same Evan Blass X -Post suggested that it will be priced “between the S25 Plus and Ultra”.
Regarding the starting prices, that means everywhere between £ 999/$ 999.99 and £ 1,249/$ 1,299.99. It is still to be seen whether this will come true.
Since then we have heard more precise rumors about the prize. An exclusive report from Android Headlines says that we now have to expect the 256 GB variant between € 1,200 and € 1,300, with a model of 512 GB ranging from € 1,300 to € 1,400.
This means that although the S25 edge can be marginal more expensive than the Base Galaxy S25, it must still remain more affordable than the Ultra model.
What are the Galaxy S25 Edge specifications?
Design and Build
So far, Samsung has only officially offered a short glimpse on the design of the S25 Edge. It shows a telephone that looks a lot like the regular Galaxy S25 – only even thinner.
Samsung
Firsty-look content from, among others, The Verge and Gsmarena reveals an impressive slim design, with the phone barely thicker than the USB-C charging gate.
However, the Onelaks and Smartprix report also suggests a few other important specifications, in particular a thickness of only 6.4 mm. That is considerably thinner than even the regular S25 (7.2 mm), and one of the slenderest phones there are.
More recent information from Korean YouTuber de Sinza suggests that the phone can be as slim as 5.84 mm (closer to the 5.75 mm Tecno Spark Slim), making it the slankest model in the Line -up. The device is expected to weigh around 162 g.
According to Sammobile, the S25 edge combines its aluminum frame with a ceramic back. This is probably for “better sustainability” and is an important shift from other phones from Galaxy S25 series, all of which have a glass back.
However, a newer report from the well-known Tipster IJsuniverse suggests that the S25 edge can use a titanium alloy frame instead. A report from Android Headlines seems to confirm this, which suggests that each of the color names will contain “titanium” such as the S25 Ultra. You can expect: titanium icy blue, titanium silver and titanium jet black.
In an interview with TechRadar, Samsung’s mobile experience VP of Product and Marketing in the UK, Annika Bizon, explained that the stunning form factor of the phone would not be at the expense of sustainability:
I can’t say too much, but what I will say is that [the Edge] Is about a nice form factor. And there are two points that I want to make. One is that it is absolutely amazing. And when you think of the technology that goes in that size of the space, it is pretty impressive. The second as I will say, concerns sustainability. With everything that is slim, sustainability must come as part of the package. These are the two functions that are exciting for us. Well, I know that sustainability is not exciting – but it is really important. So pay attention to this space, because there are a number of exciting things that have to do with regard to this phone.

However, a rather remarkable design quality has emerged in recent hands -on reviews. Korean YouTuber de Sinza showed stupid dummy units that unveiled an asymmetrical placement of the USB -C -Poort and SIM -drawer. The opening to the front of the phone is considerably thicker than that backwards. You can read more about it in our news story about the ‘shaky’ placement of the port.
Reproduction
In terms of screen size, the Onelaks and Smartprix report suggests somewhere between 6.7 and 6.8 inches. Trusted Leaker Ice Universe suggests that it will “be almost the same as S25+”, which has a 6.7-inch panel.
Ice Universe has since confirmed that the display of the S25 Edge 2K resolution will offer. The screen will almost certainly still be a 120Hz OLED.
Moreover, the edge will benefit from an ultra -thin bezel, reportedly as slim as it found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Cameras
It will supposedly correspond to the S25 Ultra in getting a 200Mp main lens, 50MP ultrawide and 12MP selfie. The third rear lens seems to be missing in the first look capacity at Uppacked, but Onleaks and Smartprix said it will be a 50MP telephoto photo with 3.5x optical zoom.
However, conflicting rumors of Pandaflash on X and Mysmartprice suggest that the phone will only have two rear cameras – a 200Mp main and a 12MP ultrawide. However, this is supposedly based on internal prototype information, so the final version can change.
This is repeated in a subsequent post from the same user, who emphasizes different so -called “confirmed” specifications:

Performance and battery
As expected, the Onelaks and Smartprix report says that the lead will follow its S25 -Stablemates to get a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset -probably the overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ version -which will be linked with 12 GB RAM.
However, there is a large question mark for battery capacity. According to Abhishek Yadav on X and Mysmartprice, the phone only has a 3900 mAh battery, while Weibo Leaker Digital Chat Station suggested that it would be somewhere in the 3000-4000 mAh range prior to the first unveiling.
This is a real concern, but hopefully the efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip will help you make it right.
Onleaks / Smartprix
As Gsmarena reports, a list that is assumed to have appeared in the Chinese 3C database and seems to show the maximum loading speeds of 25W, something that Yadav also reports. That is the same as the regular Galaxy S25, but a step down than the 45W on the S25+ and S25 Ultra.
Other important specifications are probably the same as the other S25 telephones, including 15W Qi2 wireless (with reserved) charging, plus one onion 7 software (based on Android 15) and seven years of both OS and security updates.
