This year’s first Galaxy Unpacked event revealed some exciting additions to Samsung’s technological arsenal.
In addition to the expected launch of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung not only announced the return of the Edge series, but also showed off Project Moohan, its foray into augmented, virtual and mixed reality – although this was not mentioned on stage at all.
Developed in collaboration with Google, this XR (Extended Reality) headset runs on Android XR, an operating system tailored for XR devices and jointly developed by Samsung, Google and Qualcomm.
The name ‘Moohan’, which means ‘infinity’ in Korean, is said to encapsulate the vision of limitless possibilities in merging digital and physical realities. Another teaser came in the form of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

The headset bears some resemblance to Apple’s Vision Pro, combined with subtle nods to Meta’s Quest Pro. The compact shape, the black visor with a silver frame and the lightweight construction promise comfort and ease of use.
The device’s specifications and unique features are currently unknown, but it could feature advanced display technology that can display users’ facial expressions for more immersive social interactions.
As mentioned above, Project Moohan is powered by Android XR, a specialized platform designed to seamlessly integrate XR devices into the Galaxy ecosystem.
With this software, Samsung aims to provide developers with a robust framework to create innovative applications spanning entertainment, education, gaming and much more.
Android XR also uses artificial intelligence to enable multi-modal interactions through gestures, voice commands and motion controllers.

While the consumer release date for Project Moohan remains unknown, Samsung plans to make it available to developers first, delaying a wider release to fine-tune its capabilities.
