After an incredibly long wait, the second season of Severance is here: new episodes of the grim science fiction series are already streaming on Apple TV+.
The story of the foreboding company and its struggling employees is one of the service’s most recognizable shows. Apple has put a lot of effort into promoting the highly anticipated second season – as part of its marketing campaign, the service recently set up a pop-up in New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The glass cube was set up as Lumon’s office space, with Adam Scott, Britt Lower and Zach Cherry starring as Mark S., Helly R. and Dylan G. refining macro data. To amp up the horror atmosphere, Patricia Arquette as Harmony Cobel and Tramell Tillman as Mr. also appeared. Milchick on stage.
Severance, created by Ben Stiller, tells a story about a Lumon employee who, in order to work in a special division, undergoes a surgical procedure that splits his consciousness. At work, Mark can’t remember his personal life, and at home he has no idea what his career entails.
Mark grieves the death of his wife and copes by agreeing to a meaningless office job that will push him into obscurity. Unfortunately, he discovers that the company he has given so much power over him harbors many dark secrets. He begins to question the nature of his work and the company’s intentions. Severance is a truly unmissable show, combining satire and science fiction to compelling effect.
Here’s everything we know about the show’s second season.
When will Severance season 2 come out?
The second season of Severance is now available on Apple TV+.
The first season of Severance premiered in 2022. AppleTV+ greenlit the next episode even before season 1 ended. However, the release date was not announced at the time.

What could be the plot of Severance season 2?
Spoilers for season 1 below
At the end of season 1, Mark and his friends explore Lumon’s building and find a hidden department full of goats being experimented on. The team also devises a plan that will allow Mark, Helly, and Irving to “wake up” and see where they are outside the corporate campus. The plan works, but only for a limited time.
During that brief moment, Mark finds a photo of his apparently dead wife, Gemma, and discovers that she is very much alive and working at Lumon as Mrs. Casey, the Wellbeing Advisor.
Helly wakes up at an official gala and realizes that she is Helena Eagan, the daughter of James Eagan, CEO of Lumon. She also discovers that she has been fired for PR reasons: Lumon is trying to legalize their technology and sell it to other companies.
At the same time, Irving manages to visit his office romance Burt, only to discover that he is in a happy relationship.

The series, created by Ben Stiller, is such an enigma that it is difficult to predict what will happen in season 2. The rebellious employees may be punished for their actions. Lumon’s managers probably won’t fire Mark and his friends, but they will figure out how to imprison them and make their lives even more miserable.
It is unclear what will happen to Helly. As the daughter of the CEO, she must be protected. On the other hand, Helena doesn’t even consider her cut-off self as a real person.
However, there is some hope for Mark, who manages to tell his sister that Gemma is alive. His sister Devon probably won’t believe it at first, and Mark won’t be able to clarify what he meant, but his family will certainly try to free him from Lumon’s control.
Escaping Lumon certainly won’t be easy. Thanks to the series’ latest teaser, we know that Mark is returning to HQ. Inside, the sinister Milchick awaits him, as well as… new employees.
In a short shot you see three strangers who were supposed to replace Helly, Dylan and Irving – but what happened to Mark’s friends is unknown. We also don’t know who the new employees will be – whether they will become Mark’s allies or join his enemies.
