LSH Auto has remembered 112 Smart electric vehicles (EVs) around the world #1 and #3 model lines in Australia, after a flaw in the rear seat belt buckle was discovered.
“The dual rear seat belt buckles may not be properly anchored. As a result, when the center seat belt is fastened, the buckle may interfere with the left seat belt buckle and possibly dislodge it,” the automaker said in its recall notice.
“If the seat belt does not function as intended, the occupant may not receive the full protection of the seat belt system. This could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
