Halloween is over, but it seems many viewers are still craving spooky movies. Smile 2, the follow-up to Parker Finn’s unexpected 2022 hit, continues to reign supreme at the box office, grossing $110 million worldwide as of the day of writing.
The sequel tells the story of several new characters, but they are pursued by the same dark entity as in the original Smile. The cinema is the best place to experience the horrors of the film, but if you’re curious when Smile 2 will hit home media, keep reading our article.
What’s curious is that Paramount released the first seven minutes of the film on the Smile 2 website. You can watch the video for free, although there is a hook. To see the entire sequence, turn on your camera and smile. If you stop at any point, the responsive technology will pause the clip.

In the US, you can purchase Smile 2 tickets from AMC Theaters and Fandango. In the UK you can secure your seats on the Vue, Cineworld or Odeon websites.

How to watch Smile 2 on VOD
Paramount Pictures, which is distributing the horror, has not revealed dates for the digital premiere. However, based on the releases of other great Paramount films, we estimate that Smile 2 could hit digital within a month or a month and a half.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves were released digitally just 31 days after their cinematic debuts. However, the sixth installment of the Scream franchise premiered on VOD after a month and a half.
A recent Paramount horror blast, A Quiet Place: Day One, hit VOD after less than a month, while the animated Transformers One was available for purchase and rental within a month.
That’s why Smile 2 can hit VOD around November 19, 2024 at the earliest – but the release could also slip early December 2024.
When can Smile 2 be released on streaming services?
There’s a good chance that Smile 2 will hit streaming shortly after its release on VOD.
The aforementioned Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem debuted on Paramount+ within 14 days and 18 days, respectively, of their VOD premiere. On the other hand, it took 28 days for A Quiet Place: Day One to become available for streaming.
So it is possible that Smile 2 will already appear on streaming platforms the first week of December 2024. Worst case scenario, the film will appear on Paramount+ in the second half of December 2024. While Smile 2 isn’t exactly what you’d call a Christmas movie, given its popularity, Paramount might want to bring it to streaming before Christmas.

When will Smile 2 be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Physical copies of the film will likely be released last. However, it’s hard to say when this might happen as it’s an individual issue with Paramount films.
A Quiet Place: Day One was released on streaming on DVD and Blu-ray 42 days after its release. Physical copies of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem arrived on streaming 30 days after its premiere. However, physical copies of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves arrived on Paramount+ just two weeks after its debut.
