Sony’s Layer-2 Blockchain Soneium Unveils Gaming Incubator

Soneium, the Ethereum overlay blockchain linked to the 78-year-old Japanese electronics giant Sony, unveiled a new incubator program, Soneium for everyone, to accelerate consumer and gaming applications within its blockchain eco-system of 7 million users.

While Crypto continues his march in the mainstream, traditional technology companies, the Apple’s and Ubers of this world, look at the technology to commercialize their future activities.

Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL), the builder of Soneium, used optimism on Stack, a fast and cheap layer linked to Ethereum for “bridging the gap between web2 and web3 -audience, especially for the makers, fans and community,” SBSL said.

The new accelerator, who plans to open his doors in the third quarter, was founded in collaboration with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services, with investment support from Sony Innovation Fund, according to a press release on Monday.

“This initiative reflects our vision to power makers worldwide through blockchain technology,” said Ryohei Suzuki, director of Sony Block Solutions Labs in a statement. “By lowering the entry thresholds for developers and helping them to reach users faster, Soneium brings everyone closer to a more open, maker-driven internet.”
