The issue: Rep. Ritchie Torres criticizes city and state leadership after a series of stabbings.
Finally, a common-sense Democrat called the governor and mayor to task (“Blood on Your Hands,” November 25).
Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres speaks from the heart, while Mayor Adams and Governor Hochul speak from both sides of the mouth.
Adams uses the city council as an excuse for his hands being tied.
He should take a page from Torres’ book and challenge Council President Adrienne Adams, who continues to oppose changes to the city’s sanctuary status. Instead, he dares to call Adams his “sister.”
Apparently a run for governor is in the works.
Torres has my vote.

In what kind of civilized society can a mentally disturbed individual walk freely in New York City and randomly commit heinous acts of violence?
Although this is an extreme version, this incident is certainly not an isolated incident.
Once again we see how society has neglected mental health.
This is a national problem and it’s not going away anytime soon.
This is clearly not a welcome topic for many of our elected officials to entertain or correct.
For some patients, no outpatient treatment, even if they have agreed to it, is the solution.
There is a part of the population that simply needs admission to inpatient facilities.
The only problem is that most of these facilities are closed.

We are repeatedly told that these attackers are mentally ill.
Yet Ramon Rivera confessed that he chose his victims based on the fact that they were alone and distracted.
That doesn’t sound crazy – evil, yes, but not crazy.
Describing these criminals as mentally ill creates a sympathy that is not justified.
We have the right to be outraged and want these people to be locked up, or even executed.
Let’s break it down with this BS. Put the citizens first and make sure these miscreants disappear from the streets and from prison.

I was heartbroken to learn that the third victim of the violent rampage in Manhattan left behind an eight-year-old son (“Gotta Lock Them Up!”, November 20).
The article states that she was a single mother.
The Post should follow up on its reporting on the stabbing.
I’d like to know if the boy is safe.
Is there any way to help him?

There is at least one Democrat who has the courage to report the horrors his colleagues have inflicted on New Yorkers.
But the daily abuse and insults of law-abiding, hard-working New Yorkers continue at the hands of our elected officials.
How many more politicians like Governor Hochul, Senator Chuck Schumer and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg are going to elect the city and state?
How many more robberies, assaults and murders are there before change comes?
There has been another fatal stabbing, gunshots all over the city and state, crime in virtually every neighborhood and virtually no consequences for the criminals.
From these left-wing politicians’ bloody bail reforms to allowing teenage mayhem and condoning even more crime, the blood of so many innocents drips from their hands.
They deserve nothing but shame.

Lifelong parole and the Parole Board are an absolute farce (“Judge terrible,” November 22).
Professional criminal Gary Worthy is proof of this.
He had already undergone seventeen arrests, including a conviction for manslaughter, but was still paroled and released among us.
He committed multiple crimes while on lifetime parole, but was still never sent back to prison.
He was eventually shot while resisting arrest, but not before wounding a brave NYPD officer.
The Parole Board must be dismantled to prevent further stupidity that endangers innocent citizens.
