Stolen Holdens seized in the midst of theft crisis

Officers of the Victoria police have taken up a few powerful performances To clingamid an epidemic of thefts of late model Commodores.

On Sunday 2 February, Frankton Crime Investigation Unit detectives a home in Baxter, after an investigation aimed at organized motorcycle feeding theft and risky driving.

The investigators have reportedly stolen Stolen Special Vehicles (HSV) Senator and a Walkinshaw Conducted Holden Commodore SS, both of which came from the last (VF) generation of the Australian production run of the model.

Other seized items are an alleged stolen Yamaha engine bike, a “manageable amount of methylamfetamines”, re-programmed car keys, reportedly cloned number plates and cash.

The police estimate a total value of the goods of around $ 200,000.

A 35-year-old man was accused of theft of a motor vehicle, trade/possession of drugs on dependence and negligent dealing with the proceeds of crime, and will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 17 March.

An 18-year-old woman was also arrested but was released with the intention of calling.

“Researchers want to ensure that if your pride and joy is stolen, we will investigate this offensive and bring the perpetrators for the courts,” said Detective of Frankston Crime Investigation Unit Nick Lamb in a media statement.

“If people choose to drive a high risk while we drive stolen motor vehicles, we will keep them to account.”

As mentioned earlier, Holden VF Commodores – especially V8 variants – are the target of criminals, of those who just want joyride and others with more nasty reasons.

Unfortunately, a cheap tool that is mainly used by mechanics and locksmiths to read OBD data (via a port in the interior with which they can read vehicle diagnostics and reprogrammed computers) and reprogramming tests are also used by criminals to steal commodores.
