In 2025, air fryers won’t be hard to come by – from single tray options, to double tray options, to air fryer ovens and multi-cook options. But I can say with certainty that the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill EY905D40 is one of the best air fryers out there, so you might want to seriously consider it for a spot in your kitchen.
Made by cooking giant Tefal, you are in safe hands with this kitchen package. The company, founded in the 1950s, has been making air fryers for more than 15 years. The Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill is not the newest (or largest) in Tefal’s air fryer range. In fact, the 8.3 liter device was the very first double-drawer model from the French brand.
After two years of testing and adjustments, the Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill finally hit the shelves in 2023. And ever since, the robust appliance – which promises to cook food 40% faster than a conventional oven, while delivering savings too. up to 70% of the energy you would use cooking in the oven – has become the talk of the town, with Jamie Oliver putting it to the test on his Channel 4 show, Jamie’s Air Fryer Meals. So to see what all the fuss is about, I tried it out for four weeks. This is what I found.
Design and construction
- Temperature range from 40-200 °C
- 8 cooking modes
- Easy to use digital display
Once you’ve unpacked this kitchen gadget and cleared enough space on your countertop, it’s hard not to enjoy the unassuming, inoffensive, and smart design of the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill.
At 7.8 kg, it is not the heaviest air fryer, which is useful to know if you store it in a cupboard after each use. But that doesn’t mean it feels weak. As is the case with most larger or dual-tray air fryers, such as the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer or the ProCook air fryer health grill, this appliance will take up a significant amount of space on your countertop. It is 41.8 cm deep and 40 cm wide.
Two design features make this air fryer stand out
In terms of design, the exterior panels are made of durable, rust- and scratch-resistant stainless steel, so this dual-zone air fryer is built to last. But for some extra peace of mind, you might be nice to hear that it comes with a two-year warranty.
Apart from that, two design features make this air fryer stand out. First up are the different sized drawers, which measure 5.2 liters and 3.2 liters – together enough space to feed up to eight people. The asymmetrical baskets allow you to prepare larger food items, such as a whole chicken in the larger tray or large quantities of side dishes such as fries.

Meanwhile, the second drawer gives you the flexibility to prepare smaller side dishes or meals for one person.

And while the design of the air fryer looks great, it’s important to note that the baskets don’t have a viewing window. So unlike some models or a traditional oven, you can’t check if your food inside is done without opening a drawer.
The second standout feature is the ability to grill food in the first basket, thanks to the ‘Grill’ cooking mode and removable, molded grill plate. So if, like me, you’re a fan of grilled food, this air fryer gives you the opportunity to enjoy the flavor you get from cooking directly on a heated metal rack – with 98% less smoke than a traditional fryer. grilling.
The Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill has eight preset cooking programs, taking the guesswork out of serving dinner. This includes fries, chicken, vegetables, fish, dessert, dry setting, manual and a grill setting. However, the time and temperature can be adjusted per cooking setting (within the limits of the cooking type).

As is the case with most dual-zone air fryers, Tefal’s fryer and grill comes with a ‘Sync’ function, which allows you to run two separate cooking programs at the same time, but ensures they finish at the same time. This way everything can be served at once and nothing stays cold.
Performance and features
- Powerful, with a cooking power of 2,700 W
- The Fries program comes with a ‘shake’ reminder
- Grill function
- Almost silent operation
With a power of 2,700 W, the Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill from Tefal comes with a huge amount of power. That’s why I assumed it would be loud. But even with both baskets operating, it is only 62 dB, which corresponds to the sound of a normal conversation.
Of course, one of the main reasons people buy air fryers is that they are much cheaper to run than an average stove. So keep in mind that the high wattage means that this Tefal device will be more expensive to run than lower wattage air fryer models if you use both baskets at the same time. But you still save overall.
Tefal claims that this all-in-one product not only saves on washing up (the baskets and grill plate are dishwasher safe), but it cooks food 40% faster than a conventional oven. And I can totally believe it, because while this powerful piece of technology may be more expensive to run than the average two-tray air fryer, only the grill program requires preheating. This way, all other programs reach the desired cooking temperature in no time.
Every time I turned on this air fryer, my food was cooked perfectly
I especially noticed this when cooking salmon fillets, which to my taste were evenly cooked in 9 minutes (yes, really!). After the time was up, the skin was crispy and the fillets were flaky. Meanwhile, after I got a reminder to ‘shake’ my homemade fries for 15 minutes, it only took 30 minutes for this side dish to become golden brown and fluffy. Most evenings I cooked my carbs at the same time as grilling fish, after using the handy ‘Sync’ mode, which meant I had a full fish meal on my plate within 30 minutes.

During the test weeks I also cooked solo meals in the second basket, air-fried vegetables, including peppers and onions and legumes, such as chickpeas, and I grilled sausages and chicken, which was a real treat: no traces are left behind . persistent cooking odors or the smoke that normally occurs during grilling.
I usually lower the temperature in each cooking mode to prevent the food from overcooking. But that extra step was not necessary with the Tefal. Every time I put this air fryer to work, my food was cooked perfectly, which in my case means with a golden brown coating and a crispy texture.
Another plus of this product? The name says it all: the Easy Fry is indeed effortless to use. I have to admit that I read the quick start guide cover to cover to make sure I didn’t miss anything. But it’s really not a necessity, which is a testament to how intuitive this air fryer is.
The touchscreen interface is oh so simple. Simply use the touch screen buttons to choose the program you want to use, illuminate the basket number, adjust the time and temperature controls as necessary and you are good to go. Air frying really is that simple.
Price and availability
The Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer and Grill has an RRP of £199.99, but is now widely available for £129, making it an excellent buy, especially when compared to other models of similar functionality and capacity.
It’s available from Curry’s, John Lewis, Argos and directly from Tefal. If you’d like to see more recommendations, compare it to the other models in our review of the best dual-tray air fryers we tested.
We also have recommendations for the best Ninja air fryers, the best air fryer ovens, and the best air fryers in general.
Should you buy the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Airfryer & Grill?
I am quite satisfied with this air fryer. It looks good, cooks well and the pièce de résistance is that you have the option to grill food – which not every air fryer can do. I don’t say this often, but it was hard to find any real notable flaws that would keep someone from adding this air fryer to their cart.
The only bugs worth keeping in mind are that you don’t get a reminder to shake your food (unless you use the ‘fries’ program). The Tefal also doesn’t come with a freezer mode, so you’ll have to figure out the best setting for cooking your frozen goodies.
Finally, unlike a Dreo ChefMaker or the Sage/Breville smart oven air fryer, there is no viewing panel in the door. But if you can look past these design features, the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill EY905D40 is pretty perfect.
So if you’re looking to upgrade your air fryer from a single tray to a double, this dishwasher-friendly purchase is a worthwhile option. If you like the taste of grilled food without the hassle of all the smoke, this virtually silent air fryer ticks 9 out of 10 boxes. And if you want the ability to whip up big meals and solo snacks in minutes, this is the air fryer for you.
