The Chinese retailer Temu has shifted the strategy in the light of American rates.
By means of executive order, President Donald Trump has put an end to the so-called the Minimis rule, so that goods worth $ 800 or less can enter the country without rates. He also increases the rates for Chinese goods by more than 100%, so that both Chinese companies such as Shein and Shein and American giants such as Amazon can adjust and increase rise prices.
CNBC reports that Temu was also affected, with American shoppers saw “import costs” between 130% and 150% in their accounts. Now, however, the company is Shipping no more goods directly From China to the United States. Instead, it only shows lists for products that are available in American warehouses, while goods sent from China are mentioned as in stock.
“Temu has actively recruited American sellers to become a member of the platform,” said a spokesperson for Temu. “The move is designed to help local traders reach more customers and grow their businesses.”
