Investigators say the killer who shot a Texas father in his Houston garage on Halloween night hid his identity with a white Michael Myers mask.
The slain father was identified by family members as Eric Pait Jr., 38.
Pait’s murder occurred more than two months after the murder of his estranged wife and the mother of his three children. ABC13 Houston reported.
On August 16, Carman Peterson, 37, was fatally shot in an apartment – also in Houston.
ABC 13 reported that investigators had identified Pait as a person of interest in the still-unsolved murder.
Police said they were called to the gruesome crime scene just before 11:30 PM on Halloween night, after several neighbors and one of Pait’s children called 911.
Two of the young children were in the home when the shooting occurred but were not injured.
His third child, a toddler, was with a relative and was not home at the time, ABC13 reported.
Neighbors reported seeing a man wearing the iconic ‘Shape’ mask fleeing the area.
The mask was made famous by the “Halloween” series of slasher films.
Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for Pait’s murder. T
The investigation into Peterson’s murder also remains open and detectives are trying to connect the two cases.
