Chicago 13-year-old boy was one of the attackers who robbed a man on board a Red Line train earlier this month, said Chicago police on Friday. CPD released images of the suspects last week and asked for help with identifying them.

The robbery took place around 3:55 am on 3 February in a train near the Chinatown-Cermak station, according to a city database and the press release from the police. CPD’s warning last week said the robbery took place in the train in 63rd Street.

A 53-year-old man was on the train when the group “aggressively battered” and took his property, the police said.

On Thursday, researchers arrested the 13-year-old to experience accusations of worsened theft and aggravated battery from a transit passenger. There was no other information available about the boy or the specific allegations that had been submitted against him because youth affairs are legally protected.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to offer original public safety report with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
