CHICAGO – Police have updated their warning about a burglary squad targeting homes in Bucktown by releasing surveillance video and images of the suspects.

Three men driving a van broke into at least three nearby homes this month and got away with cash, jewelry, a safe and other valuables, Chicago police said. The men enter houses through side or back doors.

“They used a crowbar and stole some stuff,” one victim wrote, posting a video of the intruders the Ring Network. “It looks like someone has a gun. I was a work and they didn’t harm anyone, but it’s terrifying to see them on video.”

The victim advised the neighbors to “lock the doors, set an alarm and lock everything.” The safety of your loved ones is so important.”

That victim’s home was targeted in the 1800 block of West Dickens on October 2 around 3:25 p.m. About 30 minutes later, the same men broke into a home in the 2200 block of North Leavitt, police said. The crew returned to the neighborhood on October 4 to burglarize a home in the 2000 block of West Churchill around 3:30 p.m.

CPD said the burglars are black males who were traveling in a silver 2005 GMC Savana van with Illinois license plate 102028PV. According to the CPD alert, the van has a “huge dent” in the rear.
