CHICAGO – An 18-year-old man with two robbery cases pending in juvenile court is now charged as an adult with robbing another victim near the UIC campus. Terriontay Brown, 18, was held by Judge Deidre Dyer, who cited his active juvenile cases as an aggravating factor in her decision.

Prosecutors filed an arrest warrant alleging that on September 16, just before noon, Brown and a juvenile accomplice confronted the victim as he walked home in the 700 block of West Van Buren.

The juvenile pointed an “apparent gun” at the victim and demanded the victim’s valuables. Brown and the boy made off with the victim’s iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods.

Police traced the victim’s iPhone and located Brown and the juvenile in the 1100 block of South Jefferson shortly after the robbery, the petition said. Brown reportedly had the victim’s belongings and a BB gun.

Prosecutors said Brown admitted to being “present” during the robbery during a phone call he made while in police custody.
