The underwater photographer of the year celebrates 60 years of diversity of animals in the wild – colossal

In the age of 60, the Underwater photographer of the annual competition remains one of the most remarkable international photography competitions. The 2025 edition exceeded last year’s figures and received more than 6,750 submissions with winners from around 30 different countries.

From the depths of the Red Sea to the swamps of the Everglades, the notable images bring viewers on a journey around the world, which emphasize the diversity of nature in the ocean and emphasize the importance of preservation. Duiker and photographer Alvaro Herrero, aka MekanThe highest honor fell this cycle with “Radiant Bond”. Off the coast of Mo’orea, a young whale that still learns to breathe with his mother to the surface.

Among the other winning snapshots are scenes of two Asian sheep head Wrasse fights in Japan, crawling coral reefs in Indonesia, a distorted portrait of camels that hydrate in Kuwait, and a florida -gary circling its swampy habitat.
