AMC is expanding its zombie universe with The Walking Dead spin-off series, focusing on fan favorite Daryl Dixon. Fans of the Hunter have reason to be happy: not only did the show return in September, but AMC is already working on Season 3.

What is the name of season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon?
Season 2 of the spin-off will have a slightly different title: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. The change reflects the appearance of Daryl’s best friend, Carol Peletier, in the story. The title suggests that the characters will join forces and travel through devastated France together.

The show’s second season is currently running episodes in the US.
In the United States, the first episode of season 2 arrived on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
In the UK, the show’s second season debuts on Sky Max and Now on Friday October 4, 2024.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Cast
The next season will see the return of Norman Reedus as the fearless warrior and zombie slayer Daryl Dixon. It has also been confirmed that he will be working together Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier – in season 1, viewers saw the cameo of the actress announcing her comeback.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 plot
The first season of the spin-off introduced viewers to the new, unknown world of post-apocalyptic Europe. Washed up on a shore and forced to travel across the continent, Daryl came across a convent run by Sister Isabelle. He was sent on a mission to guide a boy named Laurent, who would be the last hope to save humanity.
During the journey, Daryl, the nun and the boy formed a thread of understanding. We’ll likely see how this relationship develops in season 2. Unless that’s the case, Daryl decides to return to the US – but at this point, such a decision seems unlikely.
However, the crucial storyline of season 2 will be Carol’s quest to get to France and her meeting with Daryl. In the season 1 finale, she tried to find a trace of Daryl. If she succeeds and discovers that the hunter is in Europe, she will have to find a way to cross the ocean. We already know she will achieve this, thanks to Ash and his plane.
The second season will likely see the development of a conflict between the Union of Hope and Genet’s Pouvoir des Vivants.

Will there be season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon?
Yes! AMC renewed the series for the third part in July 2024. We already know that season 3 will premiere in 2025.
As Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride announced in a video on social media, filming has already started:
According to the clip and the AMC announcement, the third season of Daryl’s series will be set in Madrid. Apparently, Daryl and Carol will wander off to Spain, looking for a way to get back to the United States.
As the AMC statement reads:
Season three follows Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path leads them further astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unknown circumstances as they witness the various consequences of the Walker apocalypse.
