CHICAGO — Prosecutors say a woman taken into custody was part of a five-person gang that attacked and robbed two men in separate crimes on the Red Line in October.

Chicago police detectives released surveillance images of the robbery suspects on October 20 and asked the public to help identify the perpetrators. Anonymous citizens and a Cook County sheriff recognized Destiny Young, 21, as one of the individuals, according to court documents.

On Oct. 9 around 11:22 p.m., Young and at least four male accomplices robbed a 29-year-old man while he was on a Red Line train near 87th Street, prosecutors alleged. Young reportedly walked off the train on the man’s electric scooter while someone else took the victim’s headphones, wallet and backpack.

About 30 minutes later, Young and male accomplices confronted an 18-year-old man on a Red Line train near 47th Street, officials said. The group tried to take the man’s bicycle and shoulder bag, but he fought back and managed to keep the bicycle under control. Young allegedly pepper-sprayed the victim in the face as he walked off the train.
