Brutal thieves continue to steal street plates for Daddyhole Lane – because it sounds rude.
The local population in Torquay in Devon says that their plate is disappearing regularly – forcing the Torbay council to replace it.
CLLR Nick Bye said during a recent cabinet meeting: “There are souvenir hunters who seem to be pretty fascinated by the title of Daddyhole Road – and the board continues to disappear.”

It is assumed that the peculiar name goes back to the old English era – where Dad was a name for the devil.
Local myths say that a devil came to live in a cave at the bottom of the nearby cliffs.
A room said: “It can be devil worshipers, but I think it will be taken because it sounds rude.”
