For the fifth consecutive year, Toyota was the world’s best -selling car manufacturer in 2024, but it could not match his record pace of the previous year.

In 2024, the Toyota Motor Corporation-Die sold the Lexus Luxury brand, the Daihatsu small car division and Hino Trucks contains-10,821,480 vehicles, a decrease company.

Despite the decrease, it still defeated the earlier record of the company of 10,742.122 turnover, in 2019 prior to the COVID-19 Pandemie.

It was also enough to beat the Volkswagen Group, which lost the sales crown to Toyota and has been unable to repair it since then, last year with the sale of 9.03 million vehicles – a decrease of 2.3 percent to 2023.

As has been the case in previous years, Toyota and Lexus contributed the lion’s share to the total, good for 10,159,336 sales combined, only 1.4 percent on the previous year. It is only the second time that the two brands have cracked 10 million turnover.

Toyota itself sold 9,308,122 vehicles worldwide, also with 1.8 percent at 2023.

Hybrid vehicles – who has defended Toyota since it was launching Prius for the first time – contributed 4,142,412 to the total, almost 40 percent of all turnover of the Japanese giant and a considerable increase of 21.1 percent compared to the year before.

The car manufacturer has achieved a greater profit on an annual basis for its electric vehicles (EVs) after adding more models to his line-up in 2024, albeit only in China.

However, Toyota EVs-Die worldwide 139,892 Sales have still contributed to the plug-in hybrids of the company (PHEVs), despite the fact that the latest technology was less popular worldwide.

The result came despite a difficult year for Toyota, which was involved in several scandals.

In August, Toyota announced that it had violated certification test procedures with seven models, including the RAV4 and Camry that were currently in Australian showrooms. Both vehicles were then deleted.

Local deliveries of the Yaris Cross were paused in June for similar reasons.

In January, Toyota announced that it had discovered “irregularities” during motor certification tests of three turbo diesel engines produced by its subsidiary Toyota Industries Corporation (Tico).

While the car manufacturer was later released from misconduct and certifications for the three engines for passenger vehicles were not withdrawn, three of its mass -produced industrial engines for forklift trucks and other heavy equipment were removed their certification.

The worldwide result comes after Toyota has beaten the sales diagrams of Australia at the top for the 22nd consecutive year, with the core brand selling 241,296 vehicles alone – a new record for the local market.

Combined with Lexus, the couple clocked more than a quarter of a million turnover, an achievement that has never been seen in Australia before.

Analysts and even Toyota have predicted that the Australian market will decrease in 2025, due to a number of factors, including the costs of living, new emission rules and orderly backlogs that are ultimately deleted.
