A U.S. Marshal was charged with sexual assault involving a victim younger than 17 years old, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said this week.
Shawn Alexander Larson, 36, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of one count of sex assault, which prosecutors say happened on Sept. 27 in Aurora.
Larson was released on a $20,000 bail but failed to appear in court on Wednesday, and there’s now a warrant for his arrest, court records show.
In a statement, the U.S. Marshals Service said the agency takes allegations of misconduct involving its personnel seriously.
“The alleged actions do not reflect the core values of the USMS: Justice, integrity and service,” officials said.
