The Chicago police believe that this is the person who has fatally shot a man in a Uptown Alley last fall. They need help with identifying the suspect. (Chicago Police Department)

The Chicago police have released video clips from the person who, according to them, is responsible for killing a man in a Uptown Alley last fall. Now they hope that someone will recognize the murderer.

Around 7:37 pm on October 1, the police responded to a phone call about an injured man on the floor and found the 57-year-old victim in a reasons behind the 900 block of West Eastwood. He had sustained a single shot wound at his right upper hip.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the police suspected that the man was shot for about 30 minutes before someone called 911. Some witnesses said they saw someone running out of the alley and jumping into a silver car that was parked in a nearby McDonald’s -Lot. The vehicle fled the stage.

CPD asks everyone who recognizes the individual in the video clips to contact DET. Jeff Bartel on 312-744-8261 or jeff.bartel@chicagopolice.org. The case number is JH-451964.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
