Vitalik Buterin Says Ethereum Foundation Changing Leadership Structure To Achieve Five Goals

Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin says the nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the leading smart contract platform is making major changes to its leadership structure.

In a post on social media platform X, Buterin said say the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has been going through the process for almost a year now to achieve five main goals.

He says that’s what the organization wantsimprove the level of technical expertise within leadership, improve communications and relationships with users and developers, and bring in new talent to improve efficiency and speed.

The ETH co-founder adds that the Ethereum Foundation also wants to provide more support to app builders and protect users’ values and rights, while continuing to accelerate app development. use of decentralized and privacy-oriented technologies and the Ethereum chain for payments and treasury management.

“I think EF should be more willing to use tools built into the ecosystem (including in decentralized finance), even if this means we are not completely neutral in that sense. Although we must of course do this very sensibly.”

He also warns against those pushing for agendas that do not align with the EF, including lobbying regulators and political figures, which he says could jeopardize Ethereum’s position as a global neutral platform.

“These things are not what EF does and this will not change. People looking for a different vision are welcome to start their own organization.”
