West Town Man is robbed during the search for lost dog

Chicago – Thursday morning went from bad to worse for a West Town -man after his dog ran out of the house and then he was robbed under the shot while looking for the pooch. However, there is good news: the dog has been found.

The man’s pug ran out of the house around 2:20 am and the owner, a 39-year-old man, stepped outside to look for him.

Less than ten minutes later, when the owner searched the 600 block of North Wolcott, stopped a car and two men got out with weapons, said a CPD spokesperson. They focused their weapons, demanded his property and escaped with his wallet and telephone.

The escape car, possibly a white Hyundai Elantra, was last seen on the way to the west on Erie Street. Police officers searched the area for the robbers but arrived empty -handed. The men were described as young Spanish men who wore black -white clothing.

About 20 minutes after the victim was called 911, seekers found the Mopspug.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
