What Happens To The BTC Price If The Bottom Is In?

Over the years, there have been various statistics, techniques, and ways that investors have tried to predict the Bitcoin price bottom in every bear market. Some of them reportedly did this with some accuracy, while others observed an anomaly. Recently, a pseudonymous crypto analyst going by the name @cryptocupra on the X platform (formerly Twitter) shared his own bottom prediction, using a 23-Bar theory.

How Bitcoin bottoms went in the past

In the post shared on the social media platform, the crypto analyst explained that there have been 23 bars that have predicted the bottom of every Bitcoin bear cycle. Apparently these 23 bars have been accurate for the last three cycles and could therefore end predict a new bottom this time.

The analyst explains This theory uses the Bitcoin 1-month chart, which shows how many monthly measures it takes before the bottom is reached. Deep in the past, the crypto analyst goes on the first iteration of this 23-bar theory that took place in the 2014 bear market. The analysis shows that this 23-month period, approximately two years, is an expansion phase, which often acts as a launching pad for the price to the next bull market.

If we add in the monthly closures, it appears that there were a total of 23 monthly bar closures before the bottom was reached. After this, the Bitcoin price recovered and this move inevitably led to the beginning of the next bull market cycle.

On the other hand, the crypto analyst says this is repeating itself in the 2018 bull market. As in 2014, there were a total of 21-23 monthly bars, and once these were completed, the crypto analyst decided says the bottom was in, and then the next rally began.

The most recent of these iterations was back in the 2022 bear market, where the analyst points out this theory again. They explain that Bitcoin price reached the same 23 bar before bottoming and that the 2024-2025 rally began in the months that followed.

Now, in 2026, the analyst thinks this trend will repeat itself again. If this is the case, it means that the bottom has been reached and Bitcoin has now entered an expansion phase within the 23 bars. If this follows, it could mark the bottom and signal the start of a new bull market. According to the crypto analyst, history does not lie, and so the BTC price will go parabolic again.
