What I need (I expect that you often think of yourself) is a brand new vacuum cleaner that is specially designed to clean my boat. Well, you’re not going to believe this.
Dyson has announced the launch of the CAR+Boat, a handheld vacuum that the brand claims is the most powerful on the market.
As the name suggests, it is designed for cars, boats, caravans, campers, pets – or tight or uncomfortable spaces. Yet we understand the name choice: the Dyson Shed+Caravan does not have the same ring.

When is the Dyson Car+Boat available?
In the US the Car+Boat is launched today, January 29. You can buy it online at Dyson.
In the UK, the Car+Boat will be available at the Dyson -website and Dyson Demo Stores from 4 February 2025.
What does the Dyson car+boat cost?
The car+boat has a British launch price of £ 249.99. So far we do not know the US launch prize, but we will update this article as soon as it has been confirmed.
Is this Dyson’s first hand vacuum?
This is not Dyson’s first vacuum of this type. Over the years, the brand has launched a number of portable vacuum cleaners, in particular the Humdinger in the US, which you can still buy from Amazon for $ 249.99. Dyson has previously launched Car+Boat models. We have found V6 (Amazon UK) and V7 (Walmart) iterations available online.
But these models are not cheaper than the new Car+boat, which we think is a V8, and which has much better specifications than the V6 and V7 models. Moreover, it takes twice as long as the 25 minutes of the Humdinger in between charges.
What functions and specifications does the car+boat have?
The problem with dedicated handheld suckers in general is that they are not very powerful and have a short life between charges.
You can expect that you will receive 10-30 minutes before you have to moor it again, depending on the power setting, which may not be enough time to get all built-in mud out of your car and all gross pieces in between the seats.

And in terms of strength, your average handheld will gladly clean up some crumbs from a counter, but it is unlikely that it will do great work and, for example, all matted fur removes from a pet bed, or remove all the dust from a mattress.
But the new Car+Boat has an improved runtime and power. It is not only considerably better (at least on paper) than rival handheld vacuum cleaners, but it looks pretty good for Dyson’s own flagship wireless, the Gen5Detect – perhaps the most powerful wireless vacuum available.
The difference is that the Gen5Detect, which was launched last year, has a current price of £ 649.99- £ 769.99 in the UK and $ 699.99- $ 949.99 in the US, depending on editions and offers. See it for sale from Argos And best buy.
In the meantime, the Car+Boat has a reasonable (for Dyson) price tag of £ 249.99.
Here are some of the best specifications and functions:
- Best in-class, fade-free duration of 50 minutes before charging has to be charged. This is easy to compare with the duration of 70 minutes from the Gen5Detect.
- 110,000 rpm engine: In comparison, the Gen5Detect has a 135,000 rpm engine and is indeed very powerful.
- Fully sawn -off filtration system that records 99.99% of the particles up to 0.3 micron for cleaner air.
- It comes with three attachments, which must cover all cleaning situations: a mini motorized tool, a crack tool and a combination tool. The motorized tools of the mini is powerful enough to clean a mattress or a pet bed. The crack tool can clean in small spaces, such as between car seats. And the combination tool has both a brush for dusting blinds and shelves, and a wide mouthpiece for sucking up crumbs and debris.
