Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Deep is launching in Australia, and the sales network will start small according to local distributor Inchcape.
Deepal will start selling the S07 electric SUV in November 2024, a competitor to the upcoming Xpeng G6, BYD Sealion 7 and Leapmotor C10 and the best-selling Tesla Model Y.
Distribution of the S07 will be managed by Inchcape, the same group responsible for Peugeot and Subaru in Australia. Citroen is also a member of that group until November 1, after which orders will finally close.
Inchcape enters the crowded mid-size SUV segment with a single model from an unknown brand and will initially only stock the Deepal S07 in showrooms in Melbourne and Sydney.

“The network will launch in key areas focused on electric vehicle sales, so we will start in Sydney and Melbourne,” said Cormac Cafolla, managing director of Deepal Australia.
“And of course we will try to grow as the demand is there. We see ourselves moving into key metropolitan areas and as the brand grows and new products arrive, we will grow as needed.
Existing Inchcape dealers will make way for the new Deepal S07, while further information about the Deepal dealer network alongside prices will be announced at the Sydney International EV Show, scheduled for November 8-10.
The S07 will launch in Australia with a single 160kW/320Nm electric motor and a 79.97kWh battery, giving it a range of 475km. Power is sent to the rear wheels only.
Deepal’s debut model in Australia features sporty exterior lines and bright paint colours. Inside, the S07 combines BYD’s fluid design and unique materials with Tesla’s minimalism.
The Deepal S07 comes standard with a seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty, and an eight-year, 150,000-mile battery warranty.
