Why the Big Apple has to store the NYPD gang database of pro-crime links

Why the Big Apple has to store the NYPD gang database of pro-crime links

New York City is not yet unsafe enough for the two dozen municipal council progressives that still insist on killing the nypt bend database.

Officially the ‘criminal group database’, it is pure research Tool, helps agents to move faster and smarter after, for example, a shooting that looks gang-related enough to move enough to prevent the rounds of fatal escalation.

Public lawyer Jumaane Williams and his council area claim that it is somehow racial profiling because almost everyone is black or Latino – as if the city is nowadays plagued by white or Asian gangs. (Maybe Jumaane remembers that he is falling the jets with the sharks on Broadway?)

Neither consider the progs gang victimsAs mayor Eric Adams notes: “There are a number that they leave out – 96% of the victims of shootings in the city are people of color. Let’s keep them in mind. ”

During Monday’s hearing, that point led to a heated exchange between a clearly rattling Williams and Chief Michael Lipetri, head of NYPD’s Crime-Control strategies agency.

Reality Check: Names come into the aftermath of a serious crime in a city district, usually a minority. Strict protocols require solid proof of gang association and approval of the supervisor before any name arrives.

More than a quarter of the people in the database are convicted criminals; 45% have arrests of firearms; A third has rap magazines with more than 20 arrests; And a third are shooters or shooting suspects. Only 1% have no recorded arrest.

Mind you, Williams & Co. Do not just want to kill the database, they first want everyone to be informed And told how they can “submit requests for records” in possibilities that Gangdes may discover the identity of NYPD informants.

Did you think we were exaggerated to call this “pro-crime”?

Laughing, a councilor used the hearing to also complain about how the NYPD’s Explorers program for local community youth attracts the “crème of the crop” instead of potential gangbangers “hanging around the block.”

For us, that reminded Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz, the 15-year-old explorer, brutally hacked dead by members of the Trinitarios in the Bronx six years ago; The gang database probably helped to resolve that murder, which led to the conviction and imprisonment of more than 13 villains.

Progressive “reforms” in recent years have already done far too much for the local criminal class, but the progs continue to insist new Ways to stimulate the bad guys.

Even if wider heads destroy this specific idiocy, the public remains at an increased risk until the voters begin to profile progressives for political ‘execution’ in the earliest chance of election.
