Chicago 18-year-old woman is confronted with the charges of the first degree, accused of angry firing a single shot after a traffic scrench, killing the driver of the other car. Aaliyah Cain is held pending test.
Prosecutors say she was a passenger in a car occupied by three other people when her driver hit a vehicle that was driven by 47-year-old Mychal Evans in the 10500 block of South State late on July 6, 2024.
The collision immobilized the car in which she was, said prosecutors. She and her three companions all left the vehicle. Possibly feeling threatened, Evans drew a U-turn to escape from the scene.
At that time, Cain reportedly took out a gun and shot a bullet, which Evans hit in the top left side of his chest. He died a short time later.
Right James Murphy ordered the detention of Cain. He said that the other three people who were in the car identified her as the shooter. Her phone details, video images and her own recordings have placed her on the spot, according to the Murphy detention level.
CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to offer original public safety report with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
