The upcoming Xiaomi 16 -Smartphone is tipped with an even larger battery than expected, which means that it could absolutely strengthen its biggest rival.
Only two weeks ago we heard a rumor that the Xiaomi 16 would pack a huge battery of 6,800 mAh.
However, it appears that we may have brought the next phone from Xiaomi to the attention all the time. According to a new claim from reliable Chinese Leaker Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 16 will in fact have a 7,000 mAh battery.
The age of larger batteries
This would not be the first time that we have seen such an enormous capacity in a phone, but the other that comes to mind is the Redmagic 10S pro-a super-large gaming phone.
Since we are talking about the compact flagship series of Xiaomi, it is all the more impressive. For reference, the Xiaomi 15 has a 6.3-inch display and a tidy 152.3 x 71.2 x 8.08 mm body, with a weight of only 191 g.
Even then the current model fits in a larger than average 5,240 mAh cell. We would talk about a huge 33% bump in the battery size for the Xiaomi 16, if this report is accurate.
It would also mean that the battery of the Xiaomi 16 75% will be larger than that of the largest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S25. Mind. Stunned.

It is all due to SI/C
We can thank silicon carbon battery technology for this enormous increase in battery capacity. We have already seen that the condensed battery technology does similar things for the OnePlus 13.
SI/C -battery technology has also been set to finally give foldable phones well competitive endurance in the coming months. The Honor Magic V5 in particular is expected to contain a battery of 6,100 mAh, which is much larger than we have been used to the foldable form factor.
Other rumors Xiaomi 16 -specifications include a Snapdragon 8 elite 2 -chip and a triple 50MP camera system. We could watch an early competition for the best compact flagship telephone of 2026, and almost certainly the longest lasting.
