A now-fired Indiana school choir and theater teacher has been arrested for allegedly filming himself masturbating in his classroom and sending the videos to teenage girls, according to police.
Kayvon H. Emtiaz, 28, approached multiple 13-year-old girls on social media and told them he was a “naughty teacher who fantasized about his students all the time,” according to court documents obtained by Fox59.
He then saved some of the images he received from underage girls to use while he had his disgusting fantasies, the documents said.
Police in Avon, a suburb just west of Indianapolis, began an investigation in September after receiving a cyber tip from Snapchat that a “trustee” was downloading child pornography in the area.
Around the same time, investigators heard rumors that a teacher in the Avon School District was masturbating inside schools.
Police executed search warrants on two Snapchat accounts, “kavman105” and “fiftyshadedaddy.” Files stored on those accounts included videos of a man masturbating behind a desk “in what appears to be a musical classroom,” documents say.
The videos were sent to other accounts in the app, investigators said. Other files discovered contained videos of underage girls in a sexual manner.
Emtiaz told the 13-year-old girls that he was from Indiana and fantasized about holding his female students after class and abusing them behind a closed door, according to court documents.
The Internet server the teacher used was connected to several other social media accounts, all called “kemtiaz,” investigators said.
The Indianapolis resident was questioned by police last Thursday, during which he admitted to using both Snapchat accounts. He admitted that he had had conversations with underage girls via the app, but that he could not remember them all specifically.
He said he kept the videos of the underage girls to masturbate to when he fantasized about his students.
Police searched his phone after the interview and discovered the exact child porn files one of the 13-year-old girls had sent him in the ‘hidden’ section of his photo app.
Emtiaz was charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of child solicitation and one count of vicarious sexual gratification.
He was released from jail Monday after an initial court hearing after posting $40,000 bail. A jury trial is scheduled for February 10, 2025, Fox59 reported.
Emtiaz taught at three different elementary and middle schools in the Avon Community School Corporation between November 2019 and December 2022, but continued to work in the district as a choir and theater coach.
His extracurricular position was “immediately terminated” as soon as the school learned of the allegations.
“We are not aware of any allegations relating these charges to Avon students,” district spokesman Kevin Carr told the newspaper.
