DANA WHITE has been sensationally tipped to bring a mixed martial arts icon out of retirement to fight Nick Diaz bee UFC 300.
MMA’s top promotion is quickly approaching its 300th pay-per-view card, which will take place in April.
There are rumors about who will appear on the card, which SunSport understands will be revealed within weeks.
The likes of former bantamweight and heavyweight champions Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar have been linked with shocking returns to the octagon for the historic show.
However, UFC president and new CEO Dana White has publicly dismissed the prospect of either fighter ever competing in the octagon again.
But that hasn’t stopped former heavyweight Brendan Schaub from predicting a shock comeback for fan favorite Georges St-Pierre to face Diaz again.
During a recent episode of The Schaub Showthe Ultimate Fighter Season 10 runner-up said: “I have a little conspiracy.
“If you look at the lay of the land, most of them are large dogs are taken earlier UFC300.
“So, UFC 300, I think you’re going to get Conor McGregor…[Michael] Chandler.
“And then I also think, and I don’t have any internal sources, I haven’t checked anything with this, but it’s just what seems like what I think this could bring.

“I think at UFC 300 you get Conor-Chandler and GSP-Nick Diaz.”
St-Pierre, 42, retired from mixed martial arts in February 2019 – 15 months after returning from a four-year hiatus to claim the middleweight title against Britain’s Michael Bisping.
The former long-reigning welterweight champion was set to return to competitive action in December at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational submission event against former foe Diaz.
He recently revealed this TSN: “They had an opponent. His name was Nick Diaz.
“People who are familiar with the sport know that we (competed) against each other in mixed martial arts.
“Unfortunately, I think he’s injured. He has a neck injury and I just got hurt too.
“I have a shoulder injury. So I have to wait a few weeks to see if I need surgery.”
St-Pierre and Diaz spoke more than a decade ago at UFC 158 in Montreal, Canada.
Pride from Canada, St-Pierre retained the welterweight title with a unanimous victory over his then-bitter rival.
The feud between the pair has simmered in recent years, so much so that they shook hands before Diaz’s comeback fight at UFC 266 in September 2021.
He told Yahoo: “First of all, I don’t have a relationship with Nick. He happened to be in the same locker room.
“When he came I didn’t know, you never know what to expect, so I looked at him and he put his hand like that (gesturing with a handshake).
“I said to myself, ‘It’s all good now.’ So I wished him good luck because he was fighting.”
While UFC 300 has yet to be announced, SunSport understands the historic card will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
