The billboards in New York City’s Times Square were overtaken by Jesus Christ and the Nativity in a stunning display to kick off the Christmas season.
The magical 30-minute event was hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in late November.
Videos show people stopping along the busy streets to marvel at the 27 giant screens displaying artwork of the traditional nativity scene, including the shepherds, wise men, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.

The Times Square Nativity, which lasted 30 minutes, was part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Light the World initiative. The digital billboards featured stars, the Nativity logo, the Light the World logo and the logos of many of the charities that worked with the Church on the campaign. The billboard acquisition followed the global launch of the 2023 Light the World Giving Machines campaign earlier today.
When the nativity scene was reflected in Times Square, Nasario Martin, an evangelical Christian from Guatemala, couldn’t believe his eyes. He took out his cell phone and started recording.
“I’ve never seen Jesus Christ in a place like this before,” he said, referring to the power of the prominent message at the start of the Christmas season.
As Satanism becomes normalized in popular culture and even in government buildings, it’s encouraging to see these types of displays making an impact.
