The man robbed 2 women on SOX-35th Red Line platform, prosecutors say
Curtis Edwards (Chicago Police Department, CWBCHICAGO)

Chicago-a 19-year-old man from Chicago is confronted with accusations of aggravated theft and attempted armed robbery with two women on the SOX-35th Red Line platform.

Justice officers say that Curtis Edwards pointed the women around 7 am to June, while they were on the platform near Sox Park.

Edwards approached the first victim while showing a gun in his waistband and demanded her property, prosecutors claimed. He walked away without getting anything from her.

Moments later, Edwards reportedly approached a second woman on the platform, which implied that he was armed and demanded her possessions. She handed her make -up bag, but Edwards returned shortly thereafter to get her wallet and iPhone out of her bag, according to prosecutors. He then escaped on a southern red line train.

The Chicago police arrested Edwards and prosecutors last week said he made “admission” during an interview with detectives. Judge Shauna Boliker ordered Edwards to hold pending trial.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
