Two women were robbed on Sunday in separate but possibly related robbers during the day in West Town.
The first victim was near the intersection of Kinzie and Green when at least three perpetrators hit her and took her bag around 10:40 am, according to provisional information. Witnesses saw the robbers leave the area in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with a loud exhaust.
A license plate from the Chicago police detected the jeep in the 1500 block of West Division Street around 12:20 pm about 10 minutes later, another woman was about half a miles away.
The second victim, a 42-year-old woman, walked on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Paulina Street when a man pushed her to the ground and took her bag, according to CPD. The suspect was described as a thin black man who wore a black hoodie and a gray shirt.
Robbery reports during the Pandemie in West Town -neighbors and the area suffered endless waves of robberies for almost three years. But the number of cases has fallen sharply this year, with robberies at least 40% In the two police districts who patrol the area.
