Brutal bludgeoning of older man with baseball bat during parking lot dispute in NYC: Sources

A brute bludgeoned an elderly man with a baseball bat while spitting across a Queens parking lot Wednesday night, police sources said.

Michael Magill, 51, collided with a 72-year-old man across a parking lot on the residential corner of Austin Street and 77th Avenue in Forest Hills around 6:50 p.m., authorities and sources said.

The feud turned violent when Magill hit the senior in the head with the bat, the sources said.

The older man was treated at the scene for a bump on his head and was in stable condition, police and sources said.

Magill, who lives a few blocks from where the altercation occurred, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault on a victim 65 years or older — a misdemeanor, police said.

The violent crime occurred weeks after two heartless assailants beat a Bronx fruit seller to death with a baseball bat — apparently without any provocation, authorities and sources said.

Leslie Sanchez, 56, died two days after the brutal crime, police said.

Suspects Romel Jarrett, 37, and Terrence Downes, 44, were arrested before Sanchez’s death and charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault, which will likely be upgraded next month, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office said.
