One of the most popular YouTube channels, run by pianist Brendan Kavanagh, went viral this week after Chinese Communist Party thugs tried to stop him filming in a public space in Britain.
When Kavanagh thought the Chinese visitors wanted to play piano with him, he invited them to join in, but was told by one of the women in the group not to film them.
“Can’t we?” the shocked musician asked, as the woman replied, “No. That’s not allowed because we are for Chinese TV. This cannot be made public.”
“So we’re going to have problems with the Chinese government?” the YouTuber asked, as the woman replied, “Maybe not, I don’t know.”
A man from the group of CHICOM propagandists told Kavanagh that it is their “right” not to be filmed in public and threatened to take “legal” action, and the pianist explained: “In Britain it is a free country and everyone” – but was deleted. turned off by another Chinese woman who claimed she had a “choice” to appear on camera or not.
“But we are in Britain, we are not in China,” Kavanagh responded, adding: “We are not in communist China.”
At that point, the Chinese man said, “Okay, this is racist now,” became extremely upset and threatened the YouTube pianist.
When the woman responded by saying she was British, the musician asked why she was wearing a Chinese flag and gently pointed to the banner, causing a man in the group of CCP henchmen to suddenly shout, “Stop touching her! Do not touch her! You’re not the same age, please don’t touch her.’
Eventually the police arrived and the irate Chinese assumed he would get help from the authorities, but was soon told, “It’s a public place,” as he pleaded his case.
Meanwhile, a female officer exerted a bit of old-fashioned British authoritarianism by asking Kavanagh’s cameraman to stop filming and telling the YouTuber, “Do not live stream this on your channel because this is a police matter.”
The female Bobbie would have fit in perfectly in communist China, as she continued to try to suppress the pianist’s right to film, even pushing him to delete the footage from his camera!
“You are not their private security agent and we are in a free country,” he told the officer. “The problem is not with us, the problem is that they come to us and tell us what to do.”
The Community Notes feature 𝕏 carefully noted under an upload of the confrontation: “British film law specifically protects this type of content: ‘You don’t have to ask passers-by for permission to show their faces in a film. Under British law, copyright in film recorded in a public place belongs to the filmmaker.'”

After the meeting, Kavanagh issued a call to action, asking his followers to download the video for safekeeping, in case it was removed from YouTube as the Chinese were said to have tried to take it down.
In a second update, Kavanagh confirmed that the Communist Party of China is trying to have the video removed and said he would go on some talk shows to discuss the confrontation further.
With secret police stations in countries around the world and groups like these trying to suppress freedom of speech, it appears that the communist Chinese are beginning to impose their dystopia on the rest of the world.
