Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is accused of sleeping with the married prosecutor she hired for her case against Trump, vowed in 2020 that she would not sleep with her staffers.
In April 2020, Willis appeared on The Patricia Crayton Show while running for office, she vowed never to engage in an inappropriate relationship with anyone who worked for her.
“I certainly won’t choose people to date who work under me. Let me just say that,” Willis said.

“I think citizens are really concerned if you choose to have inappropriate contact with employees. “I can’t say anything other than it’s distracting and certainly unbecoming of the number one law enforcement officer in the state,” she added.
Willis is accused of having a romantic affair with married prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she hired to prosecute her case against former President Donald Trump, prompting calls to remove both attorneys from the case.
Wade’s wife left one submitted on Friday containing the travel reports that her husband had allegedly paid for himself and Willis to take.
The filing alleges that Wade filed for divorce the day after Willis appointed him as special counsel against Trump, and Willis took action to cover up Wade’s divorce filing.
“Prosecutor [Nathan Wade] was appointed Special Prosecutor by Ms. Willis on November 1, 2021. The plaintiff filed for divorce on November 2, 2021. Defendant [Joycelyn Wade] was served by the process server on November 3, 2021,” according to the document filed by attorney Andrea Dyer Hastings.
“Before Defendant even files her Answer and Counterclaim, Plaintiff has filed a motion asking the court to seal the file in this divorce proceeding,” the complaint continues.
Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis said the county needs to investigate whether payments to Nathan Wade have not been converted [her] personal gain in the form of subsidized travel or other gifts.”
Fulton County Judge Henry Thompson on Monday granted the request to unseat Wade’s divorce file.
