Elon Musk is the richest man in the world, but also the main target of the world’s richest governments and their associated industrialists. The reason can be completely traced back to his independence of mind and the actions that result from it.
In times of censorship, he now bought and protects a platform for free speech, the only platform that still has any real reach in public opinion. Countless millions of people are deeply grateful, even though the platform is still far from profitable.
He also innovates in a time of stagnation with Tesla, Starlink and SpaceX. He speaks out loudly against the many forms of despotism of our time. This is the whole reason why he deflects attacks from every angle.
In the latest attack, Thierry Breton, digital commissioner of the European Union, has done just that Posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he believes Elon has broken EU rules. He explained the alleged violations under a post on the social media platform.
- Suspected violation of obligations to combat #IllegalContent and #Disinformation
- Suspected violation of #Transparency obligations
- Presumably #DeceptiveDesign of the UI
Elon has been very clear that he strives to respect the laws of every country, even those he strongly disagrees with. This has to do with the EU’s aggressive censorship, which was deployed during the Covid era at the expense of scientific freedom and in defense of governments that locked up their citizens, forced medical treatments on citizens they did not want or need, and then concealed it behind it. machinations of the scenes.
Alex Jones explains why the European Union is really launching an investigation into Elon Musk’s X platform:

It’s rich to have Breton go after Elon over a lack of transparency when the whole point of the EU regime is to enforce a lack of transparency. Adding to the irony, Breton knew Musk wouldn’t censor the note on the world’s largest free speech platform. In doing so, he pits the use of freedom against its existence.
And before we start sniffing at the Europeans’ censorship and intolerance of freedom of expression, we should remember that the same thing – or a version of it – is happening to Elon in the US. After March 2020, there was a concerted effort led by deep-state actors to take full control of social media to suppress any dissent. It affected every platform, including Twitter. Amazon and all the app stores even banned Parler because it became too popular.
As the situation worsened, Musk bought the Twitter platform and purged four of its five employees, including the many government agents hired to turn Twitter into a government propaganda machine. Since then, he has upheld the First Amendment and innovated a suite of tools that enable internal and crowd-source fact-checking to make his renamed platform the most trusted source of news and opinion in the world.
Since taking over, he has faced a barrage of state-generated attacks.
The SEC has sued Musk over the purchase of the platform. According to to the New York Times“His acquisition has been the subject of several lawsuits and investigations by federal authorities. The Federal Trade Commission has been investigating whether The agency has also tried to oust Mr Musk. Former Twitter shareholders have also sued Mr. Musk for fraud in a case related to his late disclosure of his stake in the company.”
The FTC has requested internal X-documents. Say The hill: “the FTC has sent more than a dozen letters to Twitter since Musk completed his acquisition in October. It says the agency has demanded Twitter provide internal communications “relating to Elon Musk” from every Twitter employee, information about the platform’s Twitter Blue verification subscription service and the names of journalists who have gained access to Twitter -records.
Biden’s Justice Department has sued SpaceX…get this…for not hiring fugitives for classified rocket technology. CNN say: “The lawsuit alleges that ‘From at least September 2018 through May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylum seekers and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) ,” according to an Aug. 24 DOJ news release.
The Biden Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission have sued Tesla for improper benefits. Forbes say: “The expanded investigation comes after federal prosecutors and the SEC began investigating a secret Tesla project known as Project 42, which employees described as a glass house for Musk in the Austin, Texas, area near Tesla’s factory, the log reported in August.”
Biden’s Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation against Tesla over self-driving cars. Reuters reports: “The U.S. Department of Justice last year launched the previously undisclosed investigation into more than a dozen crashes, some fatal, involving Tesla’s Autopilot driver assistance system, which activated during the accidents, the people said.” The assumption here is ridiculous: that Elon doesn’t care if his product is flawed and doesn’t require improvement.
Neuralink is under federal investigation. Reuters again: “Elon Musk’s Neuralink, a medical device company, is currently under federal investigation for possible animal welfare violations, amid complaints from internal staff that its animal testing is being rushed, causing needless suffering and deaths, according to documents have been reviewed by Reuters and sources familiar with the investigation and company activities.”
Then there’s the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s investigation into harassment at Tesla. The EEOC say: “Since at least 2015 through the present, Black employees at Tesla’s manufacturing facilities in Fremont, California have routinely experienced racial abuse, widespread stereotyping, hostility, and epithets… Insults were used casually and openly in high-traffic areas and at labor hubs. Black workers regularly encountered graffiti, including variations on the N-word, swastikas, threats and nooses, on desks and other equipment, in bathroom stalls, in elevators and even on new vehicles rolling off the production line.”
Finally, we have the aggressive advertising boycott on the part of major corporations, including Disney, CNBC, Comcast, Warner Bros, IBM and the Financial times, among many others. Musk has refused to be intimidated by these people. He has said he refuses to be blackmailed by money and has instead told the companies to “Go f*** yourself.” That’s quite remarkable and really speaks to a major problem in social media today, namely the extent to which so many platforms are willing to follow the wishes of the corporatist system to serve profits.
That’s a total of nine direct lines of attack, but the company and Elon could probably name several dozen more cases if you consider all levels of government where Musk’s companies operate. And yes, it all sounds like something straight out of an Ayn Rand novel. The successful and innovative entrepreneur is attacked from all sides by institutions and people who live off the system instead of innovating around and beyond it.
We truly live in a new age of envy, driven by states and their industrial allies who are more committed to their own profitability lines and plans than to what the people want and what great entrepreneurs can create. This is very clearly a crony attack. It is striking that everyone knows this and yet it is tolerated anyway. It’s a great recipe for killing the wealth-generating machine for a generation or two.
