A rum and spirits distributor has made a humanoid robot powered by artificial intelligence its new CEO.
“Mika” is a research project between Hanson Robotics and a Polish rum company Dictadorwhich the CEO has customized the robot to represent the company and its values.
Mika said in a company video that “advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms allow me to make data-driven decisions quickly and accurately.”
“My decision-making process relies on extensive data and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. It is devoid of personal bias and ensures unbiased and strategic choices that prioritize the interests of the organization,” said the robot CEO.
CEO of Hanson Robotics, David Hanson, highlighted the importance of ‘humanising’ artificial intelligence, especially as it is integrated into the workplace.
“I believe very strongly that we need to teach AI to take care of people, so that AI can be really safe and really good. I think humanizing that is a very important direction,” Hanson explained last week on “Mornings with Maria.”
A majority of people interviewed of Fox News said AI will likely continue to take jobs from humans, and others dismissed the idea of working for a robot.
“I think people should make decisions, not robots,” one woman told the outlet.
“That would just be weird,” one man claimed.
“That would be different, then I would have to be nice [to a robot],” said another man.
Notably, in 2016, Hanson Robotics unveiled ‘Sophia’, a humanoid robot that promised to ‘destroy people’.
